Many cliched things but one I regret the most was riding an elephant in India . I have since heard how badly they are treated and now send money monthly to a Wildlife rescue in India Wildlife SOS
It would’ve been kissing the blarney stone, but I couldn’t see sharing everyone’s saliva with me. Both of us we’d have to say a gondola ride in Venice.
In the 50's..my first visit to Jerusalem..just returned from Bethlehem where i bought lots of rosaries;still in a bag..we were at the upper floor of the Church of the SEPULCHRE..At that time, peole could kneel close to the altar and touch the area where the Holy Crucifix was buried...I started to place each rosary into the hole to get special blessing for my souvenir rosaries...did not realize that a person next to me, was watching me everytime I pulled out each rosary!.then she started to do the same thing, but did not show any rosary.began to realize she thought I was experiencing miracle...pulling rosary from the hole/ while she was empty handed/without rosary.
Well, I was going to say throwing coins "over my shoulder" into Trevi Fountain in Rome, but someone already beat me to it.
However, and I haven't done this, but seeing tourists in certain Tokyo sightseeing areas renting and dressing up in kimonos and then strolling the streets. You can always tell they are not Japanese (even if they are also Asian) because the Japanese themselves rarely wear kimonos except on special occasions.
In Paris - Took a tourist cruise boat on the Seine, and had lunch at the Eiffel Tower. Yes touristy, but we enjoyed both. And the lunch was very good (more food commentary!).
PS - When we went to France we first stayed in Amboise in the Loire Valley for a few days; it was a wonderful introduction to France, before going on to the bustle of Paris. The Sunday market in Amboise was so fun and interesting, like an outdoor shopping mall.

Took the Big Bus tour in Paris so my son-in-law, who had never been to Paris, could see the Eiffel Tower at night. It was actually surprisingly fun.
