In this podcast: We hunt for the fluffiest pita in Caulfield, discover why Oakleigh is the true heart of Greece in Australia, and head into the bush to meet and eat a wallaby ... er, I mean greet.
The strangest food I've ever eaten was Narwahl blubber and musk ox meat in a town called Qaqortoq in southern Greenland. It was served in a local restaurant there to which my tour group was invited to taste native food. The blubber was definitely a one time thing for me. Being Estonian, I love blood sausage, which is a traditional food especially at Christmas, but seems to turn off most of my US friends just thinking about it.
I have eaten emu and kangaroo while traveling on the Indian Pacific from Perth to Adelaide. I also took a 15 minute tram ride from Melbourne to St. Kilda Pier to see the Little Penguins return to their rookery. I recommend both my experiences, but since the recent renovation of St. Kilda Pier, the free tickets must be booked in advance.
