Fresh numbers from The Adobe Digital Economy Index suggest the airline recovery is still on track, despite Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Last month, domestic flight bookings drove $6.6 billion in online spending, a 6 percent increase from the same period in 2019.
That’s well above what consumers spent during the holidays ($5.5 billion last November and $3.2 billion in December) when concerns over Omicron dampened demand, according to Adobe.
In 2021, domestic flights drove $56 billion in spending online, up 57 percent from 2020 but down 26 percent from 2019.
But how will that affect airfares? The numbers might surprise you.
